Ivan Koumaev

Ivan appears as one of two male dancers in the Hannah Montana video for the song The Other Side Of Me.

When Ivan appeared on the Ellen show on September 7th, 2006, he admitted that his goal is to become a dancer with Justin Timberlake's show. Ellen told him she'd talk to Justin about it.

Ivan's inspiration to begin dancing came after he watched the movie Breakin' (1984). He then went to a dance studio and began learning hip hop dancing.

Ivan (with dance partner Allison Holker) performed a contemporary dance to Annie Lennox's Why in the finale of So You Think You Can Dance; choreographer Mia Michels chose it, saying that when she first saw it, it made her cry.

Ivan credits his success to having learned dance in Seattle; he feels that dancers in Seattle are taught to respect and care about their teachers and fellow dancers, while in L.A., dancers are more concerned about themselves.

Ivan (with partner Allison Holker) is the only contestant to ever make choreographer and judge Mary Murphy cry due to the beauty of his performance on So You Think You Can Dance.

Ivan's most memorable moment while performing on So You Think You Can Dance was when his mother attended one of the tapings to surprise him.

While living in the Seattle area, Ivan participated in local dance shows like Battle of Seattle and Sign of the Times.

Ivan lived in Russia until he was 7 years old, then moved to the US with his family.

When he was 12, Ivan joined "Cruz Control", a Seattle-based dance company.

Ivan teaches dance in Southern California.

So You Think You Can Dance Judge and Choreographer Mary Murphy has referred to Ivan as "Seabiscuit" more than once, due to the fact that at the beginning of the top 10 round, he looked like he'd be the loser, but he's managed to remain in the competition, and impress the judges.

On the July 26th, 2006 results episode of So You Think You Can Dance, Mary Murphy said that Ivan was the dancer who'd shown the most growth during the season.

As a result of being a contestant on season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance, Ivan hopes that he'll win, or, failing that, just get great exposure.

Ivan says that his most memorable experience to date is his first Los Angeles dance class.

Ivan says that his favorite professional dancer is Nick Bass.

As of the summer of 2006, Ivan lives in Aliso Viejo, California.

Ivan's nickname is Ivo.
