Jack Forbes -- a compelling man with a major screen presence

Jack Forbes has the uncanny knack of achieving believability in a wide variety of demanding roles. As Captain Sam Pike in Castle, he was the pitiful shell of a man gravely injured by a senseless act of eco-terrorism 20 years before. As Mr. Kaliski in Judging Amy, Jack was a self-righteous child beater. As Cooper in Southland, he was a standup lifer applying for parole but also grieving for his victim's family. In Eleventh Hour, Jack was a rock-solid Montana Detective, turning over stones to help the feds. In Scenes of the Crime, he was the self-absorbed tow truck driver with more of an allegiance to money than to his religious beliefs ("Jesus doesn't sign my paycheck.") In The Gun (from 6 to 7:30 p.m.), Jack was a beleaguered taxi driver who was just a few steps short of understanding the fast-paced city in which he worked. In Dead Bang, Jack was a tough guy/ex-C.I.A. Officer you don't want to cross in an underground parking garage. And in Blood Dolls, Jack was the intense Mr. Squires who ran tight security for the mansion but just didn't count on receiving a mini-chopstick in the eye.
