Jack McGee is an actor from South Bronx, New York, who was a firefighter before entering show business. Born in 1949, the actor sang back up as a teenager for the pop group, The Young Rascals. He joined the New York City Fire Department in 1977 to pay his bills, while he studied acting at night. Ironically, his motion picture debut came in the 1985 firefighter film, Turk 182, co-starring a young Tim Hutton. McGee took on character roles for the rest of his career. He played a carpenter in Lethal Weapon 2 and a cop in Oliver Stone's blockbuster film, The Doors. The actor made his television debt on the show Beauty and the Beast in 1987, and he followed up the performance with appearances on the TV prime-time shows Night Court, Perfect Strangers, and L.A. Law. The actor's stardom began to rise after landing a role as a regular cast member for three seasons on the FX firefighter show, Rescue Me. McGee returned to playing characters in motion pictures and television well into 2011, landing spots on Common Law, Moneyball, Law & Order and TRON: Legacy.
