Jackie was born 1934 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was a son of a rabbi, he soon moved with his family to New York's Lower East Side, Where he spent some years studying to follow in his fathers footsteps. Mason spent three years as a rabbi, After people gave him warm reception in his Saturday morning sermons where he did some jokes aside, it came to him that he wanted to pursue his career as a professional comedian, he got his stage name after appearing on the old Barry Gray radio show.
Jackie Mason is such an underrated comedic actor. He has been in a few of movies, though not always as the star, but in each picture, he delivers a great, almost off-beat performance. Of all his movies, my favorite was "Caddyshack II."
