Jacob was eliminated from Australian Idol following his performance of Let It Be on the "Brit Pop" episode.
Jacob: (gracious in defeat as he was eliminated from "Australian Idol") It's one of those things, it's a competition. Everyone here is just so good it can go any way. I was here last week and I'm here again, so well I'm going home now.
Jacob: (asked how he prepares before a performance) Lots of quiet time, cup of peppermint tea, bit of DVD, maybe some music - all in all, a good vibe always helps!
Jacob: (asked why he thinks "Australian Idol" is important to the music industry) Because it gives those who my not have previously had the opportunity, to showcase their talents in front of a national audience.
Jacob: (asked what his title for his album would be called) It's already recorded and cost me an arm and a leg. I'd like to call it, For All the Wrong Reasons.
Jacob: (asked which artist - dead or alive - he would like to perform a duet with) John Lennon - because he is God. Nobody is better than Lennon.
Jacob: (on the best thing about being on "Australian Idol") Having the opportunity to perform my own work in front of a national audience.
Jacob: (asked when he first realized he wanted to be a singer) I saw Van Halen's Jump on the TV aged three. David Lee Roth blew my mind and I knew I wanted to do that. Awesome.
Jacob: (on his feelings when first auditioning for "Australian Idol") Absolutely petrified on the inside - reasonably calm on the outside... until I couldn't get my guitar in tune.
Jacob: (asked for his favourite genre of music) Indie Rock-Pop. Particularly the English bands. I find that they do it the best time and time again.
Jacob: (after being eliminated from "Australian Idol") It's one of those things, it's a competition. Everyone here is just so good it can go any way. I was here last week and I'm here again, so well I'm going home now.
Jacob: (on song choices on "Australian Idol") It's going to be really hard because I have to try and strike a balance between singing the indie rock songs that I love and what the general public know and love, so there will have to be some compromises.
