Biography:

James Brown is internationally known under the pseudonyms of "The Godfather of Soul", "Soul Brother# 1", and "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business." Amongst the most influential entertainers of his time, Brown's music is partly responsible for the Rap revolution as it is to this day. Brown is one of the most sampled artists of the genre. His career began in 1956 with "Please, Please, Please", and from the mid 1950s through the 1980s, his hit resume included timeless classic such as "I Got You(I Feel Good,)" "Cold Sweat," "Get Up(I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine," and "Living In America."

James Brown grew up in poverty. When his parent divorced when he was four, he went to live with relatives here and there and sometimes he even lived on the streets. He lead a life of crime when he was younger and it plagued him the rest of his life. He was arrested for armed robbery, car theft, petty theft, drug possession, domestic battery, and other crimes. He has served several years in and out of prisons and reform school. Despite all of his legal troubles, James Brown remained a legendary entertainer. He has recorded over 50 albums and over 50 compilations. He didn't make music, he invented it. He brought life to R&B and Funk music. Tragically he lost his life at 1:54am on Christmas morning in 2006, less than twenty four hours after finding out something was wrong with him and his admittance to the hospital. He leaves behind six children and 50 years worth of music.
