Miss Marple - The moving finger. hide show

A wonderful performance in which he held his own as a recovering accident victim rekindled to living by the mysteries and happenings of his new village life.
Enthralling to watch because he invited the viewer to watch his thoughts through his eyes.Miss Marple took a back seat to this character's sleuthing and yet I didn't mind a bit.
James D'arcy's acting reminds me of a young Ralph Fiennes.

    A young classic... hide show

James D'Arcy has been a favorite of mine since Master and Commander; The Far Side of the World, in which he plays Patrick O'Brian's character Thomas Pullings as though he was made for the role. O'Brian's Pullings would always light up a room with his smile and general good nature, and D'Arcy accomplishes this with a bit of shyness or reserve that gives the character even more depth. Master and Commander gave James D'Arcy a role in a superbly done film. I feel that some of his former roles (BBC TV and cinema) could be much more appreciated if the films themselves were more artfully done. My only complaint is the difficulty finding some of the BBC stuff, as well as Dot The I (which I'm aching to see), stateside. Keep up the great work, James...
