James Eckhouse, an American actor and director was born on February 14, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois. Best known for his role as Jim Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210 between 1990 and 1995, he also served as a director for three episodes of the series. Eckhouse started his career playing roles of extras in such films as Fatal Attraction, Cocktail and Trading Places. He went to New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, from where he graduated in 1972. James later attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1972 and 1976 when he quit to concentrate on building his acting career. His films include The Purple Hat, Weak Species, Wake and Love at First Hiccup. His works on TV include CSI: Miami, The Good Wife, Harry's Law and In Plain Sight. Jim Walsh, Eckhouse's Beverly Hills 90210 character got a ranking of 41 in TV Guide's List of 50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time. He married Sheila Kiliher in 1982 with who he has two sons, James Gabriel and John Alexander.
