    • Jamie: I don't get a chance to watch much TV but I love nothing more than curling up on the couch with the dog to watch 60 Minutes or Australian Story.
    • Jamie: I've always loved gardens because my mum was a very keen gardener, so it's a very natural thing for me to be in a garden.
    • Jamie: It frustrates me when I see simple changes that could be made to a garden, that I know would enhance someone's life and their weekends so much more.
    • Jamie: I think every young person should spend a bit of time in Scouts - lots of outdoor activities, basic bush survival, orienteering and a general respect for your community and the natural environment.
    • Jamie: [on his scout days] I was a Cub Sixer and Scout Patrol Leader for around 2-3 years. Being an adventure boy at heart, I loved the jamborees, the bush survival and the motto 'Be prepared!' This is a motto I have carried into all aspects of my life. I enjoyed the team building and the sense of achievement it gave me, but most of all it was heaps of fun!
    • Jamie: [on Dancing with the Stars] I'd never even heard of the Viennese waltz. Ballroom dancing is completely and utterly foreign to me. I'll be starting from scratch like all the other dancers.
    • Jamie: (on "Australia's Best Backyards") It's a great show and a really good step after digging with shovels for the past eight years! And it's a really easy show to watch. We showcase some really lovely, artistic, sumptuous gardens for everyone to sit back and look at. For the most part, Australians just love getting new ideas. It doesn't matter if it's a little $1000 quirky garden or a million-dollar one we've done, viewers will be able to take an idea from any of those environments and plug it into their own gardens.
    • Jamie: (on his daughter, Taylor, and future family plans) I definitely want to have more kids. That is certainly a big focus of mine but I don't know if now is the right time. I think it is important to be with someone, and it is quite special for someone to witness your life and you witness theirs. I want a family to share this with as I get older. And yeah, I think when the time is right it will happen. I had Taylor when I was probably too young and too busy. I don't want to make that mistake again.
    • Jamie: (on his 12-year-old daughter, Taylor) I'm starting to film the US series during the Easter break so I'll be putting some stuff in the can in the US and will spend some time with Taylor. I get to see her around every six to eight weeks, which is part of the reason I am pushing the US career, I guess. She is 12 now. I had her when I was very young, when I was in Vegas (with the Manpower male revue show he led).
