    A "Reel" Special Event Film Screening and After Party Featuring Jane Krakowski!!


    A Very Special Place, Inc. will host A "Reel" Special Event on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Haugen Hall of Staten Island Academy,715 Todt Hill Road, Staten Island, New York. 


    The event in partnership with SIFF 2007 will be screening two films: The Collector of Bedford Street by Alice Elliot and Misfortune Cookie by Jack Paccione, Jr.  An after party is scheduled to follow with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Jane Krakowski currently starring as Jenna Maroney the star of "The Girlie Show" in NBC's hit show "30 Rock" will be a special guest at the event.  The festivities begin with the screenings at 6:00pm with the after party following from 7:00-8:30 pm. All after party guests will have the opportunity to meet Jane as well the directors and actors of the films shown. 


    Ms. Krakowski is an accomplished actress, dancer and singer with numerous awards and credits to her name from film, theatre and television. For her stunning and sultry portrayal of "Carla" in Broadway's "Nine" opposite Antonio Banderas, she won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics awards. She won an Olivier Award while starring in "Guys and Dolls" with Ewan McGregor on the West End.  During her five-year stint on the Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG award-winning series "Ally McBeal," she received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of "Elaine Vassal."   In addition to singing on several original Broadway cast recordings and the "Ally McBeal" Christmas episode compilation CDs, Krakowski recorded the hit single track "You" with Jim Brickman on his recent album "Lovesongs and Lullabies." 


    A Very Special Place is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering people with developmental disabilities to lead fuller lives through providing programs and services that enable them to become fully accepted and integrated into their community.  Today over 1,500 Staten Islanders with developmental disabilities and their families utilize a comprehensive array of offerings including employment training and recreational services. 


    Tickets for the screening and after party (including cocktails and hors d'oeuvres) are $75.00. Sponsorship Opportunities are available.  General admission for only the screening is $6.00.  Raffle prizes include tickets to NYC theatrical performances and museum passes.
