To contribute towards popularization of African-American culture Jasmine starred in a play called Raisin' Cain, staged on Feb. 15, 2007 in Alumni Hall. It was a story about Harlem Renaissance and was held as part of an ongoing celebration of Black History month.
Jasmine made her debut as theater director in the production of Broadway play For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.
Jasmine was an executive director of The Turks and Caicos International Film Festival which was held on October 16th-21st, 2007.

Jasmine was good friends with rapper Tupac Shakur and remains close friends with his mother, Afeni Shakur. She wrote her biography called Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a Revolutionary which was published in February 3, 2004 by Atria Books.

I thought that it closely resembled how I really feel about things and life.
Jasmine Guy: I'm a consumer. I spend a lot of money with no reservations. It's something psychological. When I'm not working, I go shopping.
Jasmine Guy: (about her character Roxy Harvey) She was different from anything I had played. She was hard. She was asexual. She didn't have much to say, but when she spoke it was potent, and I loved that.
Jasmine Guy:You tend to be afraid when someone seems foreign to you. But if you aren't careful, that can lead to bigotry.
Jasmine Guy: The kitchen may not get cleaned, and I have to accept that. I do the important things.
