Still enjoying his career re-birth since his portrayal of Michael Bluth on the acclaimed (and long-cancelled) series Arrested Development, Bateman continues his movie momentum with Horrible Bosses and The Change-Up.
"Not many viewers tuned in (to Arrested Development), but some people in L.A. were watching, and they turned out to be people in charge of giving out some pretty good jobs," he says.
"Not many get a chance to hit the career re-set button."
The pitch: Horrible Bosses
In Horrible Bosses, Bateman is one of three friends (Saturday Night Live's Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day from the cable show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are the others) who plot to kill their employers one by one in this dark comedy.
Marked for death are the evil bosses played by Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston.
Hit or miss? Swimming-with-sharks comedy home run.
The pitch: The Change-Up
The Change-Up is a trading-places farce with an R-rating. Bateman plays a conservative, middle-class husband who yearns to have the life of his womanizing single friend (Ryan Reynolds).
The hubbie gets his wish when they body-switch as the friends inadvertently pass by a mystical fountain.
Hit or miss? Blast from the past goes extra bases.
