Great news for Jason Dohring fans. Jason has been booked for the lead role of Elliot Knight in the independent feature film 'Searching for Sonny', by Red Productions and Westbrook Media. Official Site: searchingforsonny.com/ Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/searchingforsonny Twitter: … More twitter.com/searchforsonny Press Release: FORT WORTH, Texas - (Business Wire) Off-the-rails indie comedy "Searching for Sonny" begins shooting this week in Fort Worth, Tex. as the inaugural feature film written and directed by NYU Tisch graduate Andrew Disney. "I wanted to explore the concept of an action/comedy hybrid," said Disney. "For me, the greatest sin is boredom; I want to give the audience more than a plot by creating a visceral experience for them that is fun and makes them laugh while feeling a great deal of suspense." Cast members joining 'Sonny' include Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Masi Oka ("Heroes," "Get Smart"), Minka Kelly ("Friday Night Lights," "500 Days of Summer") and Jason Dohring ("Veronica Mars"). They appear alongside Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney, who form the New York City comedy duo BriTANick, best known for their recent Internet sketch video "Movie Title." 'Sonny' tells the story of directionless pizza delivery guy, Elliot Knight (Dohring), who, after receiving a mysterious postcard, decides to attend his high school reunion in Texas and make amends with Sonny (Oka), an old friend he once wronged. Once there, Elliot reunites with his fraternal twin brother, ne'er-do-well Calvin (Kocher), their timorous former pal, Gary Noble (McElhaney), and gorgeous Eden Mercer (Kelly), the love of just about everyone's life. But when the guys are off digging up a time capsule they buried 10 years prior, they happen upon the dead body of Eden's husband and are suddenly swept away into the wackiest murder case on record, with themselves as chief suspects in the crime. 'Sonny' is the second feature-length film to be produced by Red Sanders and Greg Beauchamp of Red Productions and will be shot using the Canon 5D Mark II DSLR camera and the RED One Digital Cinema camera. It will be ready for release by Spring 2011. The film has already received significant interest in the filmmaking community and within its online target audience of 18-35-year-old males. According to Sanders, as the independent film distribution landscape has changed, the team behind 'Sonny' realized the importance of engaging a core group of enthusiasts. Its teaser trailer, posted nearly a year ago, received close to 85,000 views in 127 countries within the first two weeks. "Our goal from the beginning has been to differentiate ourselves from the sea of independent filmmakers," said Sanders. "We've done so by embracing new technology, and engaging a dynamic community around our experience. As a result, we've positioned our film for the widest distribution possible." About "Searching for Sonny" "Searching for Sonny" is a film that tells the story of Calvin, Elliot and Gary who return to their high school reunion to discover that their old buddy, Sonny, is missing under mysterious circumstances. After run-ins with the law, an ex-girlfriend and the corpse of the high school quarterback, the mystery turns meta when they realize that everything happening seems eerily similar to a play they performed in high school – a play Sonny wrote. What happened to Jason after the untimely and unfair demise of "Moonlight"? I heard he had a project with FOX, but have been disappointed not to see anything come of it. This guy was stellar as "Josef" on Moonlight, and he should definitely be headlining his own vehicle by now...
When I first saw Jason in Moonlight I wasn't impressed. But with each appearence he grew on me. So much so that I downloaded every episode of Veronica Mars just to watch him. You can see alot of Logan in Josef if you were to compare them. His actions, his demeanor, the way he walks, even… More they way he talks sometimes. I think when it comes to the character that Jason plays there is alot of himself in them. I watch Moonlight now to see both Alex and Jason. To see what they have in store for there characters now that Mick in human even if it is only temporary. I did not know anything about Jason before he showed up on Moonlight but I am now a fan of his. Hope to see more of him in Moonlight and outside pursuits. Let me know what you think? Were you like me, didn't know who he was before Moonlight or have you been a fan since Veronica Mars? Who do you like better Josef or Logan, can you choose?
Is it true that his religion is scientology? Just curious to know...
Go vote to save VM. The poll has a great rep of saving shows http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/blog/index.jsp?uuid=52af6b98-eb72-45a0-b27b-7798e6bf906f&page=1
Friday's time-travel episode took Dean to "You dirty rat!"-era Chicago, where he teamed up with a legend and spouted pop culture references.
"Maybe We Can Get a Dog Instead?" did its best to flesh out Malcolm as a character, but it didn't really do anything to make him interesting or even unique from countless other addict characters we've seen on screen.
Who was brilliant this week? Who was not? Let’s find out.
Plus: Two and a Half Men casts an Arrested Development alum, the VMAs score for MTV, and Men of a Certain Age gives up hope.
First time I sow Jason Dohring in Moonlight. In this show he act vampire - Josef Kostan. He is the best friend of Mick St.John and he is about four hundred years ago. Jason as a vampire Josef is very easy-going and inteligent. When Mich has a problem he please Kostan to help him. In Moonlight Jason and Alex as a brothers :):)
I think that Jason Dohring is very talented actor and OF COURS really HANDSOME :):)
I heared that he act in Veronica Mars too, but I have never seen this shows. I think I should :D
I hope that in the future I will see Jason in many films. For exemple in II season of Moonight.
...but once I started watching Moonlight I really began to like his character Josef, and thought there was much more potential to the character than the first episodes allowed for. Sleeping Beauty gave a glimpse into the deeper Josef but Fated to Pretend was a grand slam!
The best scenes in that episode were with "Mick" and "Josef" and really solidify the relationship the two characters have in an up-to-now hidden back story. It has put their past into perspective and set up for what will hopefully be a great second season.
I did also find Veronica Mars in reruns and while the story is a bit young for me, Jason plays a real jerk with amazingly the same likability present for Josef.
I think this young man has a great future ahead of him...but for now I just want to see more Josef vamped out!

Donce . Je ne mariage psa pour le moment .
Encore . Logan . Je t'aime .
beaucoup . C'est fini .
I Absolutely love Jason Dohring. Such an awesome actor, and a pretty cool dude! Love him as Logan in Veronica Mars, they couldn't have gotten a better actor for the part! Going by video interview on the CW website with him, I'd have to say in real life he's so cute and funny. The fact he can play the, in Veronicas words, obligatory psychotic jackass Logan Echolls, and be a completely different person in real life, just reflects on how good an actor he really is!
Can't wait for the new show moonlight, in which he stars in. Having him in it is reason enough for me to watch it but the fact it's about vampires, being a huge Buffy and Angel fan, makes it really appeals to me!
I love the fact that one of his nicknames is J.D! I love scrubs, so naturally I love the nickname J.D! Finding many more reasons to praise this guy as time goes on!
To conclude, a really talented actor, which any show would be lucky to have!
I began watching the show with season 3 instead of from the beginning. I could not stand Logan. I couldn't wait for Veronica to dump him and move on to Piz, but after watching the first two seasons I totally changed my mind. Logan may be a spoiled jerk but he loves Veronica. The way he was so protective of her even when he was supposed to hate her, I loved it. The episode where they first kissed was so great. I am so sad that the show is over because I want more of them together. I am so unhappy that the show ended with her with Piz.
