Jean Vander Pyl was an actress on radio, television, and movies and will be forever known as the voice of Wilma Flintstone from the animated 1960's cartoon series, "The Flintstones". She passed away at the age of 79 due to lung cancer.

    • Jean started her career in radio and could be heard on such series as "The Halls of Ivy" and "Father Knows Best", where she portrayed Margaret Anderson, the wife of Jim Anderson (Robert Young).

    • Jean made a very brief cameo appearance in the live-action film version of The Flintstones as Mrs. Feldspar, an elderly woman in a conga line.

    • Jean got paid $250 an episode for her work on the series "The Flintstones" and when the series ended she recieved a residual payment for syndication in the amount of $15,000.

    • Jean's son, Roger DeWitt, was a junior high school teacher in Los Angeles in the 1990s.
