One of my five favorite movie actors of all time. Despite many big roles it was his performance in Into the Night that really first struck me about the depth of his skills. He and another of my favorites John Cusack are similar actors part of two generations. They both can carry a movie in an independent film, but also can be a star in a blockbuster Hollywood production.
His major roles have included Silverado, Jurassic Park, and Independence Day. A prolific actor he has performed in over 75 films and is only 56 years old. Besides film Goldblum is active in the theater and TV as well presenting a complete example of a true thespian. Goldblum has performed on Broadway as well as London. His television experience has been as a guest star and a lead. As a lead in a few programs such as Tenspeed and Brown Shoe where he played the role of Lionel "Brownshoe" Whitney which lasted 14 episodes in 1980. Short lived but very interesting Raines where he played the titled character which last seven episodes.
Recently Goldblum has returned to the small screen in a very successful role as Detective Zach Nichols in Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Nichols is the son of two psychiatrist/psychological clinicians who obviously have had a great deal of influence on the characters life. Nichols former partner was Captain Ross play by Eric Bogosian. Goldblum adds a lot to Criminal Intent and pairs with Julianne Nicholson who plays his partner Detective Megan Wheeler. The two have hit their stride as partners and are really doing a great job on current episodes.
A wonderful actor with immense range that brings a lot to every role. Goldblum adds a tremendous amount to any production and raises the level of quality in just being involved. Thanks for reading...
