On July 3 2010, Jeff officiated the wedding of "The Office" star Jenna Fischer to writer Lee Kirk.

For the
60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, Jeff co-hosted the event along with the other four nominees for the newly created category "Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program". They included Tom Bergeron, Ryan Seacrest, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandell.

Jeff often contributes to US game show Jeopardy! by giving Survivor related clues from some of the show's venues, and has twice appeared on Celebrity Jeopardy!, first in 2001 and again in 2003.

In his spare time, Jeff is active in the
Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. At the conclusion of each season of
Survivor props from the show are auctioned on-line to raise money for the charity. This began after
Survivor: Africa when the cast and crew saw the devastating effect that HIV and AIDS had on that continent.

In May 2008, Jeff confirmed that he has signed on to host 4 more seasons of Survivor, this will make Jeff the host through season 20.

Jeff dated and was engaged to Survivor: Vanuatu contestant Julie Berry. They reportedly started dating after Jeff e-mailed Julie to say hello after the conclusion of the season. In March 2008, they broke off the engagement and went their separate ways.

As a correspondent for Access Hollywood, he traveled more than 300,000 miles around the world.

The only personal souvenir Jeff has taken from each season of Survivor has been the torch snuffer. He currently possesses them all.

On the Survivor: All Stars Reunion show, he offered to marry both Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich, claiming he was an ordained minister. Probst got himself ordained in 1999 so that he could preside at his parents 40th anniversary remarriage. He was ordained by the Universal Life Church of Modesto, California. He paid $25.00 for his ordination papers.
