  • I can understanad why you lasted so long on Law and Order, Jesse, because you are surely one of the best in your role as a detective as I have ever seen. I hope you continue to find roles that are worthy of your talent; I believe you are multi-talented!

Jesse Martin played a great role in Law and Order, a show that was cancelled prematurely and that didn't even have the decency to show the proper appreciation for an ouatstanding cast - after 20 years of performances by great actors/actresses. I really miss the show. Other than Law and Order/Special Victims, I have not seen any other law and order show that can compare with this original version. I felt that it followed true law and order procedures, both on the "law" side and on the "order" side, so was very realistic. I always hated it when they lost!
  • Jesse L. Martin can sing, dance, and act, and he's an awesome person too. Who CAN'T love him?

I first saw Jesse in RENT, and I was blown away by his voice. Frankly, I couldn't believe that I hadn't heard of him before. He was, hands down, the most honest actor in the movie. It's hard not to break into tears when he sang I'll Cover Your (Reprise), especially when Jesse's voice nearly breaks--but doesn't, of course, because he's amazing like that!

After I saw RENT, I started watching Law and Order. Det. Green and Tom Collins are parallel opposites, and yet Jesse was just as convincing in both roles. I think the moment when I completely, totally, without a doubt fell in love with him was seeing him perform in the Anniversary edition of Rent on Broadway. When you see an actor get so into his character that he literally starts crying in an emotional scene, you kind of have to admit he's incredible.

On top of that, Jesse is very considerate towards his fans, charming, funny, and humble. The fact that he has a gorgeous smile and a smooth style doesn't hurt, either.

It should be a law that Jesse has a major role on TV or in movies at least once a year, and that he sings in all of them. He's an amazing actor and person, and it's not fair how little credit he gets.

This man is absolutely amazing! I loved him on Law and Order, he is my second favorite detective on the show(Lennie is my first). I hate the fact that he left right when the show was starting to come back. Him and Lupo were great together and i wish they could've spent more time with those two detectives. I am not looking forward to this next season, but i really do hope Law and Order beats Gunsmoke record. I just think it would be better if Jesse was there to see it. Well, i guess i'll just have to catch him in this new NBC series The Philanthropist.

What can I say about Jesse L. Martin?

He is multi-talented and is good at all of the things he does.

He is the Original Broadway Cast of RENT(which is my personal favorite musical). He plays a computer teacher named Collins who falls in love with a transvestite. He was also in the movie version that came out in 2005(really good)

He also stars in the regular Law And Order,he plays detective Ed Green.Jesse will star in a movie about the life of marvin gaye called sexual healings which is set to come out later this year. Jesse L. Martin is very good looking and has a great voice!!!
  • Jesse L. Martin a great actor, singer, dancer & a awesome person over all. We all know him as Tom Collins in RENT & Detective Edward Green in Law and Order. He's been in countless entertainment gigs & I love him to death. He is 1 of my persona

A very talented man. Played Tom Collins in RENT (an awesome movie) and as of now he's playing Detective Green in Law & Order. He has a movie coming up soon called Sexual Healing, a biography of Marvin Gaye.

When you look at Jesse L. Martin, you see a loving soul, and good heart. He once said that if he wasn't an actor he'd be a teacher, which is why he relates so much to character he plays in RENT, Thomas B. Collins, otherwise known as Collins. He's a good man and deserves alot in life. I love you Jesse.
  • A very talented man

I think Jesse L Martin is one of the most talented men in show business. He can sing, dance and act. His Det. Green is one of the most complex characters on tv. One minute he can be very charming and sweet, the next he goes for the throat. As believeable as he is as Ed Green, he was just that as Tom Collins in Rent. His singing and acting in Rent was fantastic, who wouldn't cry when he lost his Angel. This man can do anything and he does it to the best of his ability and it shows. If Law&Order ever goes off the air, I hope we see him in another show, it would be a shame not to see this guy every week.
  • A multi-talented man.

I'm very lucky to get the chance to watch him on Law & Order weekly. Jesse is a true Renaissance man. According to his friends he can do it all, and he does it ten times better than anyone else. He was one of the six out of eight original Broadway cast memebers to be in the 2005 movie version of Rent. And if I may say so myself, he was excellent in the movie.
  • Can go from nice guy to tough and make it believable.

What makes Jesse L. Martin such an interesting cop, in his portrayal as Det. Eddie Green, on Law & Order, is his ability to go from the nice friendly guy that people want to confide in, to the tough cop that wants to bash heads and he sells the transition well.

Many people were upset at the loss of Benjamin Bratt, but Jesse L. Martin came in and soon had viewers forgetting Mr. Bratt. He appears to have had a good relationship with the late Jerry Orbach. Green and Briscoe’s relationship on screen developed over the years too. They really sold a partnership of two men, who may not have been too social off duty, but made a smooth running team on the job.

Now Jesse needs to help get people to accept Dennis Farina as Det. Fontana. It has been over a year and he is still not fitting in so well.
