Jessica: (On music) One of my favorite things about Los Angeles is the music scene. There are so many venues you can check out a great band on any night of the week. The Greek Theatre is definitely a favorite of mine because it's up in the hills and set apart from the bustling Hollywood streets. They have stadium seating outside with huge screens so the group in the back row can still feel like they're a part of the show.
Jessica: (On eating organic) There is a huge organic movement right now(September 2008) and I love it. I try to show my mom and dad that this is my lifestyle right now and my mom shops organic sometimes. But, you have to find what works for you.
Jessica (On staying fit and eating right) Right now (September 2008), my goal is actually to put on a little bit of weight. But, when a work schedule gets crazy and I am an absolute workaholic who loves to work out and get energy from it that when I don't get to work out I feel frail and especially coming from a sports background where my body is naturally muscular. So, when I don't get to work out then I miss it, I want that lean muscle mass and I want to get it back.
Jessica: (On the advice she would give to someone who wants to be like her) Know that there is no limit to how high you can travel and how high you can go with whatever you want to do. If you are living in a small town, you have a huge family and you feel like you are one of many then know who you are and set yourself apart. Don't ever be pushed back by someone who doesn't believe in you, believe in yourself. That is all that matters. Just get out there and get the knowledge for the career, for the choices that you want because you can never learn enough. That's the beauty of life, its changing and learning more about how the world works and how people work and if you know that then know that there is no end to what you can do.
Jessica: (On what style means to her) To me, being stylish or style in general is about confidence. If what you are wearing, if it fits on you and if it makes you feel like a women. Every day when I get up and get ready, I ask myself who do I want to be today?
Jessica: (On being from the south) I am so proud of where I am from and I reference it whenever I can. I love the fact that people from the south are so friendly. They are about not only sports but about rallying together and building a community and acting is a harsh world and its a lot of ups and downs, putting yourself out there and its super competitive and for me I had to love what I was doing and being from the South and being competitive pushed me to book jobs and study for them.
Jessica: (On relating to the high school experience that 90210 is depicting) When I went to Charlotte (North Carolina), I walked in wearing jeans, a pair of shoes, and a sweatshirt. Just normal and comfortable. And the girls there were wearing heels and short skirts and stuff, and it just blew my mind.
Jessica: (On 90210 purists who think the original show should be left alone) Thankfully no one's come up to me on the street and thrown things at me, but I'm still looking to dodge a tomato or something. I think the extremists-the fans that grew up on the show and it was their life-don't want to tamper with the idea of what that was, but that's the beauty of our show. It's not like we're trying to be that old show. We have our own identities, but we're bringing in old characters, creating and developing into these new people, and it should be exciting rather than a daunting "are they going to ruin it?" feeling.
Jessica: (on her reaction to landing the part of Silver in 90210) Disbelief. Pilot seasons are notorious for their ups and downs, and I just kept saying, "What? Say that again? What? Ahhh!".
Jessica: (on her role on "90210") For me to step back into high school in Silver's shoes is so much fun because I was a bit of her in high school. I was a different person. I didn't stay in one clique. I loved meeting new people.
Jessica: (on the original "90210" series) What I remember about the original show was that they were who I wanted to be! I just thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen, these kids living in this amazing town but yet grounded in a way. Watching them and seeing their world through their eyes was awesome for this southern girl to be able to see this whole new world.
Jessica: (on the cast of "The Hills Have Eyes II") The cast, I'd say, was absolutely the greatest people that I've ever worked with. We had so much fun. And I think you've got to have a bit of a sense of humor when you're working on a horror film like this.
Jessica: (on filming "The Hills Have Eyes II") For the first month we were outside. It was right at the end of the summer and we're in full army suits, boots, gloves, hats, helmets, jackets, everything, and we had to do a ton of training. The heat was insane. I remember one day I had to step aside, go in the shade, eat some sugar or I'd pass out. It was ridiculously hot.
Jessica: (on pursuing her acting career) I had amazing support out in California, and they said, 'If this is what you want to do, if you want to focus on acting, you come to California'. And so I moved out and immediately got into classes.
Jessica: I'm very grounded I feel. I'm from the South, I'm from South Carolina. I have my family, my brother and all his best friends. They constantly call up to check on me.
Jessica: (on her role in "The Hills Have Eyes 2") I loved playing a soldier. I grew up with a brother and was always like a tomboy playing with the ninjas and the G.I. Joes. And so for me, just the whole training aspect and really getting involved with the stunts was so much fun.
Jessica: I want a guy that plays sports and is humble. If a guy's going to take me on a date, it means a lot to me how he treats the waitress.
Jessica: I got lucky with a couple commercials, but doing smaller things, doing student movies and films and more independents... That's what's helped me learn the most. And I think being on set and being able to actually get the experience is where you learn.
Jessica: I am a big horror movie fan. Anything that's gonna scare me, anything that's gonna take me out of my own little world that I live in is just something that I'm excited about.
Jessica: (on getting attention from fans) Truly you can only hope for that because it means people are watching your work and hopefully it's good work.
Jessica: I'm not one of the typical actors that goes out and goes crazy. It's just not who I am and I'm very focused on my work and my career.
Jessica: (in playing the part of National Guard) I think that's amazing. It takes such courage to actually do that in real life, so I hope we represented them well.
Jessica: As an actor, you've got to live and learn, and you gotta just kind of form a hard shell and be confident in yourself.
