The daughter of designer Dorothy Schoelen, Jill gained a reputation during the 1980s both for her husky voice and as a scream queen, starring in such films as
Cutting Class,
Popcorn,
The Phantom of the Opera,
Curse II: The Bite and
The Stepfather. After dating both Keanu Reeves and Brad Pitt (to whom she was briefly engaged) in the 1980s before either were stars, Jill married composer Anthony Marinelli in 1993. Jill had a few more roles, but retired from acting in 1995 to raise her and Marinelli's two children, only reappearing once for a short film titled
… More She Kept Silent. Jill also has two brothers, Todd and Mark.
