JoAnn comes from a large family, which she is one of seven children. Her parents are Catherine and George Willette. JoAnn is the fifth oldest child in the family. She also has a twin brother, James, though JoAnn was born shortly before him.
JoAnn is probably best remembered for playing the role of the mellow-dramatic, bohemian book worm, Constance "Connie" Sarah Lubbock in the short-lived series "Just the Ten of Us" (a spin-off from the successful sitcom "Growing Pains"). A year after the show was cancelled, JoAnn married husband Mark Amato, a writer for TV personalities such as Dennis Miller and publications like SPY Magazine. Together, they have two kids: a son, Luca Amato and a daughter, Cecilia Amato.
JoAnn and Mark currently are co-creators and co-founders to "The Daily Anxiety," a satirical newsprint featured in the entertainment section of the L.A. Times.
