Born in Brampton, Ontario, Joanne spent her formative years in Toronto, acting in film, television and commercials. Boland's numerous television credits include guest starring roles on the popular Global TV murder mystery series, Blue Murder; Discovery Channel's investigative series, Exhibit A; and, Showtime's Leap Years and Odyssey V. Her made-for-TV credits include Hunger Point, where Joanne plays anorexic patient Cynthia; Conviction, with Dana Delany; and, Sister Mary Explains It All, starring Diane Keaton and directed by Marshall Brickman. Other television credits include the Sci-Fi Channel's movie of the week, Threshold; Disney shows In a Heartbeat, Phantom of the Megaplex, Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire, and, The Famous Jett Jackson. Boland is also a singer/songwriter since the age of 14. She can be seen playing gigs on stages around Toronto such as "C'est What?", "Freetimes Café", "The Gladstone Art Bar" and "Oasis."
