Joe is a professional wrestler and is best remembered as 1/2 of one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history as 'Animal' or 'Road Warrior Animal' with his best friend Michael Hegstrand who was known as 'Hawk' or 'Road Warrior Hawk' calling themselves "The Road Warriors" or "Legion of Doom" also known as "L.O.D." from 1983 up until Mike's death on 19 October 2003. Two other formations of 'the Warriors' was when 'Animal' teamed with 'Droz' as "L.O.D. 2000" and when 'Animal' teamed with 'Heindenteich' as "L.O.D. 2005".
