John Aniston

John has appeared in soap operas almost continually since 1975, when he joined the cast of Love of Life as Eddie Aleata. In 1978, he left the series to play Mary Stuart's new love interest, Martin Tourneur, on Search for Tomorrow. He played that role until 1984, until he joined the cast of

In 1986 John won 'Outstanding Villain' and 'Outstanding Leading Actor' in the Soap Opera Digest Awards.

John is the son of Yaya Joanna Aniston. He has two sisters and is the ex-stepfather of assistant director, John T. Melick.

John was originally scheduled to play the role of 'Ted Baxter' in the The Mary Tyler Moore Show show but was replaced by Ted Knight.

John's best friend was the late actor, Telly Savalas. Telly was Jennifer Aniston's godfather.
