John Beck is an American actor best known for his role as Mark Graison on the television show Dallas. Born in Chicago on January 28, 1943, Beck was inspired to act after being in a high school play at the age of 16. His first television appearance was a guest spot on I Dream of Jeannie in 1965. Following bit part in television, Beck made the move to film with an appearance in the Woody Allen comedy, Sleeper (1973). He followed that with an appearance as Poe with Kris Kristofferson and Bob Dylan in the Sam Peckinpah western Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973). Another part in the film Rollerball (1975) brought him further attention from audiences. Beck's biggest part came as Mark Graison on Dallas. He was on the show from 1983 through 1986 until his character was killed off. Following Dallas, Beck appeared in the soap opera Santa Barbara and did voice work as the Marvel Comics vigilante The Punisher in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
