John LaFayette is Chicago native is a veteran actor whose work has taken him from the New York stage to Los Angeles studios.
LaFayette says he was initially inspired to pursue an acting career when Sidney Poitier proved it could be done. He first honed his acting ability onstage in productions of "As You Like It," "Spoon River Anthology" and "Jim Town" in New York City.
LaFayette has appeared in many successful TV shows, including "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Sister, Sister," "Murder One," "Tales From the Crypt," "The Young and the Restless" and "Beverly Hills 90210." But what most may remember him for is his role as James Jackson, a devoted father and crusading civil rights lawyer in Lifetime’s hit, Any Day Now.

The seasoned actor has also appeared in a number of feature films, including Dr. Dolittle, with Eddie Murphy; Clear and Present Danger and Patriot Games, with Harrison Ford; Greedy, with Michael J. Fox; and A Civil Action, with John Travolta and Robert Duvall.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing paddle tennis in Venice Beach, California, and reading Tom Clancy novels. LaFayette currently resides in Los Angeles.
