John Raitt's distinguished baritone voice brought him success with his first performance. That Broadway debut was in 1945 when he played Billy Bigelow in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "Carousel". He made musical history and emerged as one of the most notable performers of the Broadway stage.
For more than 40 years he has entertained audiences with performances of "Oklahoma", "Annie Get Your Gun", "The Pajama Game", "Kismet", "The Music Man", "Man of La Mancha" and many more.
He appeared on television throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's, on prgrams such as "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show", "Steve Allen Playhouse", "The Bell Telephone Hour" and many others. His daughter singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt continues that legacy of music.
