    • John Williams was the commercial spokesperson for Columbia House's mail-order record album set 120 Music Masterpieces and the companion album 30 Piano Masterpieces, in a long-running ad campaign that began in late 1971 and continued, with changes in price, record label (to Vista Marketing in the late 1970's) and various formats offered (8-track, reel-to-reel and cassette), into the mid-1980s, not long after Williams' death.
