In June 2007, Johnny officially filed for divorce from wife Melanie after 12 years of marriage. Johnny has requested joint custody of their 11-year-old daughter, Madison.

In June 2007 it was revealed that Johnny, along with Jimmy Kimmel and radio personality Adam Carolla, was being sued by an actor claiming he remained unpaid for work he performed in the movie Windy City Heat in 2003.
