He was born as John Cummings on October 8, 1948. After years of dreaming, he stated the band he always wanted. He then became known as "Johnny Ramone", the co-founder and lead guitarist of seminal 70's punk rock band The Ramones. After many years of Rock n' Rock life, he was faced with an incredible battle. He was soon diagnosed with prostate cancer. After the long five years of pain and suffrage, his life ended. He died in his sleep in the afternoon of September 15, 2004 at his Los Angeles home. Although a sad and heartbreaking event, we know he went peacefully with the company of friends… More and family by his side. The group included his wife, Linda Cummings, Eddie and Jill McCormack, Rob and Sherrie Zombie, John Frusciante and Robert Carmine, as well as additional friends such as Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood, Pete Yorn, Vincent Gallo, Steve Jones, Talia Shire, Gia Coppola and Jackie Getty. One of the last found memories he had of his band and of life was the induction of The Ramones into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. With all the ups and downs that life threw at him, Johnny came out strong and will always be remembered for it. He is survived by his wife Linda and his mother Estelle.     Nobody forgets the legendary guitay player Johnny Ramone. hide show

    He is simply the best. He is the bad guy of the band. This guy is ultra-liberal. Although him and Johnny Ramone had a feud because of a girl, they both didnt leave the band because they have respect for both each other. Johnny Ramone is the best. Nobody mess with Johnny.
