Johnny was born on Halloween in 1975. His early years were spent in Charleston, South Carolina with his mom. When he grew older he moved to Dallas, Texas with his dad (parents are divorced). At age 15/16 in 1991, he won the 1st Young and Modern Man Contest. 3 years later he moved to Los Angeles with his mother and at the age of 18 started his acting career with a guest appearance on Party of Five in 1994. His debut in movies was with Bye Bye Love in 1995. He quit acting after his first couple of movies, but then made a comeback in 1997's The Rainmaker.

Johnny Whitworth ROX!!!!! i loved him in Empire Records (my favorite movie)I jst wish he would have had bigger roles in his movies, or television. I think he is really talented and he totally stole my heart in The Rainmaker (where he played Bobby Ray, a dying cancer patient) I am just sooo in LOVE with this guy so if you ever get the chance to see any of his work you should take it because i promise you won't be dissappointed!!!! I
