Previously hanging around on the peripheries of the bay's action, looking pleasant and being supportive, Jon Sivewright finally gets a proper storyline and it's a meaty one that the actor can really get his teeth into. His portrayal of the grieving, vulnerable and confused Tony Holden rings achingly true. After the night with Naomi, his guilt and regret appeared etched on his face and tangible in his every gesture and movement. In the fallout with the family, he was convincing as someone utterly lost and desperate, stricken with remorse while trying to justify himself to some of the show's perennial clutch of hysterical, high-maintenance teens. With this standout, effortlessly realistic performance, I can only hope that Tony is never banished to the outskirts of the soap again.
