Josh: The music is a hybrid of rock, R&B and radio friendly pop, but the lyrics are serious and about deep issues.
Josh: (On his plans for the music industry) I have been working, trying to record that "hit" song that will show who I am as a musical artist. We are trying to make it work with all the stuff happening on Desperate [Housewives].
Josh: (On whether he prefers working on the small screen or the silver screen) I like it all. I have been blessed the past few years to work a lot. Movies are always a lot of fun since you're shooting on location. It's like summer camp; you go away from home and meet new people. With television, you have a lot more time off. There are parts of both that I love.
Josh: In Popstars 2, I was thrown into the business. It was kind of a crash course. I had to soak everything up because I gave up my life for that show. I go home at least five times a year, and I will never forget who I am and where I come from.
Josh: (About 'Over There') When these kids are being shipped over there, they leave the comfort of their home, family and loved ones. I think it takes a special kind of person to go and fight for their country.
Josh: (On his favorite housewife on 'Desperate Housewives') So far, I have done most of my work with Nicollette. She's tons of fun, hilarious and spontaneous. If I had to choose, I'd have to say Nicollette.
Josh: (About his role as Brett in the 2006 movie 'Step Up') When I got the film, the story line was a little different and I didn't want to play the stereotypical jerk who picks his dream over his best friend. But I liked working on the movie; it's young, fun and different.
Josh: (On his relationship with Ashlee Simpson) We are still very close. People go through a lot together, and I'm all for helping her out. She's really talented, and I'm very happy for her.
Josh (about playing Austin on Desperate Housewives): Austin does everything with a smile and witty sarcasm. It's a role I can really have fun with. I go to work and have a good time. Everyone on the set was very welcoming
Josh: (about being on a show like Desperate Housewives which attracts a fair bit of scrutiny) A lot of people ask me that, and I don't really think about it too much. I just go to work to have fun. I don't know if I am braced for it or not.
Josh: (when asked if his Desperate Housewives character will ever embrace Josh's musical background) I think it's a good possibility. The producers were very excited that I sang and played guitar.
Josh: (talking about which cast member took him under their wing first on the set of Desperate Housewives) Well, definitely Nicollette. Within the first 20 minutes of meeting her I felt like I had known her for years.
