Juan Chioran




Birth Name




Mr. Chioran was born in Argentina and moved with his family to Toronto, ON Canada in 1975. After leaving York University he was accepted into the University of Alberta where he graduated with a B.F.A. in Dramatic Arts. Between 1988 and 2000 he appeared in numerous productions at the Stratford Festival of Canada and is an 8 year veteran. Selected performances include: "The Three Musketeers" (Rochefort), "The Mikado" (Pooh-Bah), "Man of La Mancha" (Don Quixote/Cervantes), "Dracula" (Dracula), "As You Like It" (Jaques), "Hamlet" (Ghost, Player King and Gravedigger). Mr. Chioran also had an impressive run as Molina in "Kiss of the Spiderwoman" on Broadway/First National Tour during which time he won several awards. He also has an impressive list of theatre credits, such as: Garry Essendine in "Present Laughter" (Premiere Dance Theatre), Tyrone in "Anything That Moves" (Tarragon Theatre), Othello, Tybalt, Professor Claude Night and Juliet's Nurse in "Goodnight Desdemona, Good Morning Juliet" (Bluma Appel Theatre-SLC), Celine in "Cinderella: A Family Musical" (Elgin Theatre), Robert Chiltern in "An Ideal Husband" (Citadel), Cyrano in Musical Workshop of "Cyrano de Bergerac" (CSC). Operatic credits include: "Die Fledermaus", "Der Vampyr", "Tosca", "Zarzuelas de Espana". Principal voice talent participation: Sir Loungealot in "Blazing Dragons", Banderas in "Diabolik", M.E.L. in "Blaster's Universe", Antonius in "Mythic Warriors: Guardian of the Legend", Pierre in "Angela Anaconda", A Narrator in "Freaky Stories", Fitzgibbon in "Trevor!", plus work in the 2001 animated series "UnderGRADS".

Mr. Chioran was also the proud recipient of a 15th Annual Gemini Award for his portrayal of Dracula in "Dracula: A Chamber Musical".
