    • Julia caught the acting bug at age 13, and quickly became a star in her hometown.

    • She earned her Actor's Equity card while working in the play Scapino at Buffalo's Studio Arena Theatre.

    • She attended Purdue University and starred in the plays Our Town, A Streetcar Named Desire while there.

    • In September 1996, she sang the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium for the first time.

    • Since 2001, she has been the spokesperson for Fund for Animals, a national organization founded in 1967 by the late Cleveland Armory. It's focus is on animal rights.

    • She married her husband, Richard Hirschlag, during her 18 month hiatus from All My Children on February 14, 1982.

    • In 1998, she won her second Daytime Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role as Brooke English on All My Children.
