Julian Glover is a British actor who was born March 27, 1935, in London, England. Glover is a classically trained stage actor who performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company for many years before crossing-over to TV and film. He is most recognized for his convincing villain characters. In the 1960s and 1970s, British television audiences were introduced to Glover through his appearances on various television shows. In the 1980s, American audiences were introduced to Glover through his villainous characters including Imperial General Maximillian Veers in the 1981 film Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, Aristotle Kristatos in the 1981 James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only, and Walter Donovan in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Glover also provided the voice for the giant spider, Aragog in the 2002 film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In 1993, Glover won the Lawrence Oliver Award for Best Actor for his performance in the play Henry IV, Part 1 & 2. Glover married his second wife, Isla Blair, on September 28, 1968, and they have one child.
