JUSTIN THEROUX gained a BA in acting at Bennington College in Vermont before progressing to the British American Drama Academy where he appeared in productions of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Much Ado About Nothing' and 'Twelfth Night'. From there, his theatrical repertoire was further expanded by performances in New York at the city's Theatre Workshop, Roundabout Theatre and Actor's Playhouse where he was involved in 'Hide Your Love Away', 'Water And Wine' and Anton Chekhov's 'The Three Sisters'. Extensive work in regional theatre followed including Joe Orton's 'Loot',More 'Alice In Wonderland', 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' and 'A Winter's Tale'.
In 1996, he secured the role of Mark the Revolutionary in director Mary Harron's 'I Shot Andy Warhol' that ignited his interest and involvement in independent film. He returned to work for Harron in the globally successful 'American Psycho' in 1999. Also during this period his prominence on television gained momentum with successful performances in, most notably, HBO's 'Sex And The City', Fox's 'Ally McBeal' and CBS' 'The District'. He lives in New York City. His birthdate is August 10.
