Birthplace:
Los Angeles, California, USA
Birth Name:
Kate Garry Hudson
Kate Garry Hudson, daughter of Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn and singer-comedian Bill Hudson, was born on April 19th 1979 in Los Angeles, California. When Kate was a year and a half old, her parents divorced, and her mother began a relationship with actor Kurt Russell, whom she considered and called her real dad. Kate, who displayed a dynamic, sparkling personality as a child, was aMore performer and entertainer -- always singing, dancing and putting on shows for her family.

And although early on she already knew she wanted to act, Kate's parents wanted her to go on a different path. Later on, her mother showed her support by accompanying her in auditions and enrolling her in acting school and in Santa Monica Playhouse. In 1995, Kate was sent by Goldie to the Williamstown Theatre Festival where Kate's desire to act was fueled even more. The following year, she landed a role on an episode of Party of Five. Foregoing an opportunity to further study drama and theatre in the university, Kate went straight to Hollywood and won a role in her first feature film, Desert Blue (1998), which was followed by appearances in 200 Cigarettes (1999), About Adam (2000), and Gossip (2000).

However, the film which shot her into international fame was her portrayal of the lonely and loyal groupie Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous. Not only did she gain a Golden Globe award and an Oscar nomination for her performance, but she also caught the attention of film producers and movie critics. Her other more known projects include the romantic-comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) opposite Matthew McConaughey, the light drama Raising Helen (2004) with Joan Cusack, and the suspense-thriller Skeleton Key (2005). In 2008, Kate once again teamed up with McConaughey in the adventure/romance movie, Fool's Gold.

Kate continues to live in Los Angeles, California with her son Ryder Russell Robinson, who was born on January 7, 2004. She and Ryder's father, musician Chris Robinson, whom she married on December 31st 2000, got divorced on October 25th 2007. Aside from her on-camera work, Kate is also active in charities such as her involvement with the wildlife organization WildAid.
In 2010 Kate met Matt Bellany at a concert and have been going out since April, recently they are announced Kate's pregrant.

As per site guidelines of having just 10 quotes per editorless person guide and my personal preference of having at most 15 quotes for all person guides I edit, I am transferring some of the interesting quotes previously found in the Quotes section of the guide. If you wish to submit a new quote,More either do it on this thread or kindly PM me before replacing any of the existing quotes on the Quotes section. Thanks! Kate : (on being an actor) People don't always want to believe that. They want to believe I do it because I felt I had to, or to be like mum, or to compete with my mum. Or any other of a number of things that have nothing to do with who I am. I am so much less complicated than that. I like acting. Kate : When I'm working, I give myself one day a week to splurge, usually Friday night. Otherwise I just try to stay away from wheat, dairy, and white flour. I love food so much. The "desert island" food for me would be pizza. I always have a Tombstone in the fridge. Kate : I was in this furniture store once with Ryder, and this woman said, "I know who you are-- Gwyneth Paltrow !" I was like, "Yeah......." Gwynie and I look nothing alike. When I was younger, I had a lot of people saying I looked like Drew Barrymore . And, of course, my mom . That goes without saying. Kate : I like single life. I mean, my single life is me, Ryder and Chris ! It doesn't change. Chris and I were in Aspen over Christmas. We were like, 'Should we go to a bar?' My main focus is Ryder and staying close to close to Chris . It's kind of a really nice place to be in. I'm not really interested in a relationship right now. I'm interested in my son. Kate : (about her 3-year-old son's notoriously long hair) He won't let me cut it. And then finally, I said, "We're going to have to cut your hair." And he goes, "Yeah, I want a Mohawk." And I was like, "Okay, maybe we'll cut it another time." Kate : I'm not worried about my weight. If the audience is worried about my weight, I'm not doing my job as an actor. Kate : (asked about being the only female featured in " You, Me, and Dupree ") I'm so flattered. First of all, it was a boys' club movie. It was one of those things where I was the girl, the little sister. It was like, 'Hey, what are you guys doing? You going out? Can I come?' But I'm pretty comfortable with boys. You know, I have all brothers. There's four boys and then me and my mom, so I've been surrounded by boys my whole life. Kate : (on having Liv Tyler as a best friend) Liv is actually the only real actress friend I have. I was 15 when I first met her. She was just 17, which seems like worlds apart when you are that age. I was like "Oh my God, look at Liv Tyler . She is so beautiful!" We've always had a really wonderful relationship and it has never dissipated. Kate : (on filming " The Skeleton Key ") I think the stunt coordinator was surprised to find out that my coordination was pretty good. I got to break windows, climb up a two-story trellis and crawl through mud in the pouring rain. One day, I looked down at my knees and they were black and blue, just like when I was a kid and played soccer. At one point, I was actually soaking wet for 15 hours. I loved it. Kate : (Dupree is a character in her movie " You, Me, and Dupree ") I've got some female Duprees...I've got like two. One of them just sort of squatted in my house for over a year. And I liked it because I could go into the guest room and . Chris was the one who was like, "When is she getting out of our house?" And then I have another one who's probably the Dupree who would light the house on fire with a stick of butter. And if you're out there, baby, you know who you are! Kate : When I was little, I had such a crush on Kiefer Sutherland . I had a Lost Boys poster on my wall. I met him once when I was at a hamburger joint with my dad. I don't know if Kiefer remembers. I should never be talking about this. Kate : I knew a little bit about voodoo, mostly love-spell books I got from my girlfriends. I believe our minds are powerful enough to manifest whatever we'd like. Kate : Every girl wants a fairy-tale ending. And I believe it's possible. Absolutely. Kate : (on her relationship with ex-husband Chris Robinson ) Look — we're still basically living together. We've figured it out. I mean, obviously, nothing's perfect, but I could never look at (our divorce) as a mistake. If anything, it's the best thing that ever happened to us.

    Oh, THAT smile!.. hide show

Kate has this special glow her mother has. You look at her and can't help falling in love. When she smiles you know that it's for real and you smile as well.
I can't remember when she was in bad mood or when she was rude with other people or smth. I'm sure she is a fantastic person in her off-screen life.
Because of her positive personality I watch all Kate's movies. In 'Almost famous' she proved that she is not only a pretty girl with a terrific smile, but also is a good actress. Nowadays she's doing all those romantic comedies, that's ok, because she brings sunshine everywhere. But I'd really like to see Kate in other genres.

No matter what I love her. A lot. She is one of the best actresses of this decade. She's sooooo talented that I cannot find the right words. In fact I can't even remember which was the first film that I saw with her on it, but it was so good that I was searching for more. She's really delightful, I enjoy her acts more than... emmm.. Gwen Paltrow, Jen Aniston etc because I don't think that more popular actors can act better. You can agree with me or disagree, it's up to you, but I appreciate her work and I thank God and Goldie Hawn that we have her and a lil thank to Kurt Russell for helping to rise her. lol. thanks :)

Michael Douglas,Jamie Lee Curtis,Melanie Griffith & Jane Fonda.
These are children of celebrities who have really made a name in acting terms.
Kate Hudson seems to have gained recognition and the choicest
of roles based purely on her parents fame.
I think she has a wonderful screen presence and hope in the future she will find the roles that make her the actress she could be instead of the career Movie Star roles she's been content to take on.
I'd love to see her in something like Out of Africa,Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile or something not in the present day.Get out of Hollywood and the artificial Hotel lifestyle Kate and experience the inspiration of reality.

Kate Hudson is a decent actress. In my opinion, she's only in show business because she's pretty and because she is the daughter of a famous actress. She hasn't really chosen a variety of roles, but she has proven that she can act in each genre of film.

Hasn't appear in many movies, which is weird, since I remember more, but still, I think that she is kind of cool. I like her character in You, Me, and Dupree and I also like the way she acts and her style is really cool! Something to say about her is that she is cool and she is a good actress.
