Kate ran screaming to the car, not knowing what the people wanted from them.

Kate is a regular on the Best Dressed lists, however, she ranked #7 on Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dress List for the first time, in 2001.
Kate is five feet and six inches tall. She is left-handed, has green eyes, and brown hair. She is part Sicilian (on her dad's side).
Kate buys her clothes from vintage clothing shops and makes her own jewellery.
Kate is able to speak French. It was something she learned during the filming of Le Divorce (2003).
Kate has 3 dogs: Clara (a Pomeranian), Doctor (an English bulldog), and Bella (a Neapolitan mastiff).
Kate enjoys playing guitar, writing music, and doing arts and crafts. She practices yoga.
Kate was ranked #99 in Premiere's 2003 annual "Power 100" List. It is her first appearance on the list and she was the youngest person on it that year at the age of 24.
Kate has always known that she wanted to act, but at one point developed an interest in playing soccer and got very good at it, making it onto her high school team. Growing up with brothers, she always had someone to compete against in practices, and Kurt both coached her & cheered her on. She quit playing however, when she saw that her legs were getting 'quite large'.
Kate graduated from Crossroads, a Santa Monica performing arts school, in 1997. She was accepted to NYU's Tisch School of Drama.
Kate: If I see a big, white, flowing dress that looks like you should be in a field somewhere with daisies in your hair, I am a sucker for it. Flowy and girly is definitely my day-to-day style.
Kate: I do love a good bikini, and I think it's because I just love the sun so much. I love summer, it's my favorite season. I love being by the water!
Kate: When it comes to fashion, I can be a bit all over the place. That's because I simply like what I like - I don't have anything specific that hits me. It really comes down to what I'm feeling that day and what kind of mood I'm in.
Kate: (on her style) When it comes to fashion, I can be a bit all over the place. That's because I simply like what I like - I don't have anything specific that hits me. It really comes down to what I'm feeling that day and what kind of mood I'm in.
Kate: (on her favorite thing) Time at home to be with my kids. I travel so much that that's a big one. And when I am at home, time to sit alone with myself for a few minutes, just be quiet and refocus my energies. That's very important to me.
Kate: (on fashion) I've loved since I was a little girl. My mom says that when I was small, I would put together outfits that made her go, 'OK, I don't know what you are doing, I don't know what you are wearing, but I'll go with it'.
Kate: I've grown tamer since I've grown older and I've also come to realize that looking good has to come from the inside out because there's no outfit in the world that can make you feel confident if you aren't.
Kate: (on planning to get married again) I'm planning nothing right now. I'm so busy, we've been so busy and it's been great. I come from an unconventional family—they're not married, my parents aren't married … So there's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. And I'm going to take the time to really plan it right.
Kate: (on not trying to impress her fianceé with the way she dresses) Matt's not fussy. Matt likes feminine. Sometimes I'll come out in something low cut and tight, but if I come out in like a flowy dress, Matt likes that. But I don't dress for Matt! I dress for my girlfriends! I dress for me and my girlfriends. Girls dress for each other, don't we? Guys don't really care what we wear and they don't get it.
Kate: (on her favorite Red Carpet dress) That's such a hard question as we have so much fun doing it. They are all fun! I'd say that some of the ones that are my favorite… Well, I loved this year's Oscars dress. It wasn't necessarily the most comfortable…Some dresses you look back and they photograph so beautifully. You were so lucky to be able to wear it. Then sometimes you look and you might have felt more comfortable in it but it didn't photograph as well.
Kate: (on having inputs for warbrobe for her characters) I think that's a big part of creating characters—it's probably why a lot of young actresses love to get involved in fashion. When you're creating a character's world, you're creating who she is, what she wears, what she likes, and it's always different. I've had experiences with some brilliant costume designers, and their ability to create these characters' world through wardrobe is really inspiring. I have influence over the process, but I've been lucky to work with incredible costume designers who don't really need much help.
Kate: (on making a fashion collection with her friend Laurie Stark of Chrome Hearts) We have very different aesthetics. At the same time, our interests lay in similar places. When we go into a store, we're attracted to the same vibe but we'll pick out completely different things. One of the reasons we like collaborating is because we get to bring two different points of view to the project. I really enjoy that process.
Kate: (on the importance of Pilates in keeping fit) I think that was the foundation for everything that I have done. I like Pilates because it kind of strengthens from the inside out. It's very specific and I feel the strongest when I'm doing it because it really centers on your core.
(on the importance of keeping fit) I really loved setting those kinds of goals for myself... Your bodies are these incredible machines and they can be if you want to use them that way.
Kate: (on wanting to try different sports) I'd like to do a sprint triathlon. I've always loved sports. I always felt like I was the athletic type and I always had that thing as a kid
Kate: (on her diet) I indulge at least three times a week (but) usually I aim for 1,800 calories a day.
Kate: (on her favorite treats) A cheeseburger and fries, creamy white-truffle pasta, bowls of ice-cream.
Kate: (on her clidren sports activities) They learn from what they see, so I think they see how active [I am]. Ryder's always been involved in sports or karate, and he's obsessed with hockey. Bing loves to play soccer. He loves football, and he's actually kind of into golf. He's got a really good little golf swing for a 2-year-old.
Kate: (on her workout regiment) I switch it up all the time, whether it's as simple as just getting on an elliptical or treadmill to taking a spinning class to dancing to running around with my kids. I'll try anything. I don't know if I'd get into bodybuilding, but if I had a movie that meant I had to build up, I think it would actually be really fun to see what my body could do!
Kate: (on her workout cloth collection) I obviously love clothes, and in my life I get opportunities to wear very high fashion, really fun girlie stuff, but this is my [everyday] life — wearing leggings, whether I'm working out in them or just going out with my friends and running around with my kids,
Kate: (on her workout cloth collection) I really wanted to make women feel like there was a sexiness to the clothes, without it being too revealing. I think it's fun to wear little peeks of skin, so I did a lot of T-shirts that have cutouts and added a little bit more detail to the sports bras, which makes it really fun.
Kate: I went on countless auditions. I begged my parents until I finally was allowed to be in a theatrical play when I was 13. It was the most important thing in my life.
Kate: I talked to ex-wives of musicians of the '70s for research. They're the funniest people in the world, yet there is this sad, beautiful thing in their eyes that says they've seen more than they could ever possibly tell you.
Kate: I have never done a thriller, and it will just be really fun for me to heave and pant and run and climb and break windows and scream every once in a while.
Kate: You have people who can't act and they get all these parts. Paris Hilton falls into her own category. She's made a career out of it.
Kate: The only things I'm competitive in are backgammon and poker.
Kate: If it's a big hit, fantastic. If it's not, then it's not. I don't worry about my work.
Kate: I'm not afraid of heights. I rock climb. I can repel off the side of a building.
Kate: I'm not a big fan of romantic comedies, believe it or not.
Kate: I smoke, isn't that terrible?
Kate: I always wanted to be a mom.
Kate: When you're nursing and you're working 18-hour days, that's pretty hard.
Kate: I auditioned on my own. I tried to make a mark for myself without anybody's help, not even Mom's.
Kate: Do you know what a blessing it is to make movies that make people happy?
Kate: I did not like leaving them when they were little or big. You have to have priorities regarding what you will allow to take you away from your kid.
Kate: I don't know if people really want to know how I feel about drugs. I'm not such a stickler. I believe you can choose to live your life any way you want.
Kate: I'm superstitious... but not like wear the same underwear for two weeks superstitious.
Kate: I gained 60 pounds, and I'm proud of it. Why do I need to watch my weight when I'm pregnant? I could eat whatever the hell I want to eat.
Kate: Somebody can become a celebrity for being stupid. That is what it's turned into.
Kate: Never worry about bad press: All that matters is if they spell your name right.
Kate: Honesty will never break you.
Kate: I'm feeling really well and very happy with all that's going on in my life. I'll obviously be spending a lot more time in London but I'm not sure about moving – not yet! We'll probably split it 50/50 – I do love it here and surprisingly I do love the weather. It's so nice to have seasons.
Kate: I am very happy with the way my career has gone. I couldn't be more pleased. I just feel so lucky to have done the things that I've done, worked with the people I've worked with - it's really a blast and [there's] way more to come, you know. And in terms of my career, I can't wait to get into my 30s.
Kate: (On Nine) Well I had a really great perspective because I was up top (of the stage) shooting it and I got to look down and get an objective point of view of what was happening. It was so cool. It was like an Australian goddess coming out over here and then you have the French angel sort of walking down the stairs and then you had Penelope who's (got) the Spanish cute, quirky, feisty thing and then Dame Judi Dench and the iconic Sophia Loren and then it was me and I'm like, "Uh, I'm in this movie?"
Kate: (stating that a healthy sex life is the key to making a successful relationship) People think you can put your sexual life on hold, but you have to find time for it. Without that relationship, our family is broken. My mum really implanted that in me when I was pregnant.
Kate: (on her type of man) I'm kind of a little bit all over the place with my type - I do like complicated.
Kate: (on her relationship status in December 2008) I'm actually enjoying being single right now because I really never have been. I feel good in relationships, I enjoy them. I feel my best when I'm in something solid. But it's also the first time I've ever taken a step back and gotten a new perspective. So, I've made a conscious decision to try to stay single as long as possible.
Kate: (revealing she is ready to appear naked in a film) It depends on the movie and depends on the circumstance (but) I am pretty comfortable with that – as long as it works for the movie. If I wanted a part I would pretty much do anything I needed to in order to get that role.
Kate: (on playing a sexually aggressive character in My Best Friend's Girl) I got to say and do certain things that most people say to each other in normal, everyday life. I got a little taste of what those Sex and the City girls were up to for so long, which was fun.
Kate: I swear a lot in My Best Friend's Girl. But I actually talk like that. It was fun to swear in a movie. In real life, I can't hold a conversation without swearing.
Kate: The one thing that is very different about being a single mom is dating. But I would rather be home with my son, cooking dinner, than going out with a guy.
Kate: I've never been a big make-up person. I'd go to high school with my zit medicine on! That's how much I didn't care. I think it's why all the popular girls had a problem with me.
Kate: I was a tomboy. I had three brothers. I was the girl with the dress on who always came back in the house filthy, with scrapes and bruises. But I was always very girly, too. I had to be able to twirl so that my underwear showed.
Kate: I can take all the criticism in the world, and it really won't affect me. I'm just having a great time being alive. How lucky are we just to be here and healthy? What a fun thing.
Kate: If I could have one gift, it would be to help everybody see all the beautiful things in life and be happy. And if that happened, there would be more...bubbles! ... And I have no idea what that means!
Kate: I love writing music. I play the guitar but I think of it more as a hobby. When and if I do decide to do something with music, i would have to be very committed to it. I have a little different take on music than most people do. If I'm gonna do it, I'd go on the road. I can't even see myself doing that at all right now.
Kate: I am such a sucker for reality television. It's almost like it's so absurd that you can't stop watching it. I just think it's a phase and people will get over it.
Kate: I had everything after the baby - booty, three chins, the whole kit and caboodle. I really enjoyed being pregnant and I really enjoyed getting big and I actually enjoyed, after the baby, being big. The best part about it was I can relate to how difficult it is to lose weight now. I really worked hard at it. I worked out two-three hours a day every day.
Kate: I don't consider myself better than any other girl walking down the street. But a lot of people in the industry aren't that way.
Kate: I'm not interested in being fearful. I'm not a good flyer, but that doesn't stop me. As far as politically, and SARS, if you're gonna go, you're gonna go. I'd like to be able to experience things. That's the best thing for my work - to be somebody who does get to travel and observe people. It would be a shame if things that made me afraid stopped me from doing those things.
Kate: Whenever I feel stressed out or like I'm going crazy, I stop myself and say how lucky I am to be able to do what I do. I'm so lucky to be able to have my baby with me everywhere I go.
Kate: I remember running around in Ibiza as a little girl, not being fazed by all these naked people, or people smoking and drinking. Nobody stopped to think there was a child in the room. It was just the way it was.
Kate: I know there are ups and downs. You're up one minute and then you can't get arrested. That's happened to both my parents. I'm aware of that. But our family doesn't really discuss acting. We don't sit around the kitchen table and read the trades. We're just a close family.
Kate: To bear children is the ultimate in femininity; it's beautiful. And if having kids is going to affect my career, then fine, let it. I don't really care. Because if that's what being a star is all about, I don't want it.
Kate: I have an amazing job, but you need more than fame to be happy. If anybody is in this business to get famous, they ought to get out, because everybody falls off the shortlist eventually.
