Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy welcomed their son on 9th July in Los Angeles.

Kate is expecting her second child with Muse frontman Matt Bellany.

Kate has often talked about how her mother Goldie Hawn refused to let her start acting while she was still a child, because of the horror stories that are heard about kids who break into the business too young. Kate says that she begged and begged, but she didn't get her chance until she was a grown adult, and now Kate says that she's glad it ended up that way.

Kate and Chris Robinson officially ended their six year marriage on October 25, 2007. Jennifer Aniston is helping Kate Hudson through her marriage split. The two stars bumped into each other at Los Angeles airport and Jennifer gave Kate a consoling hug, telling her to get in touch if she ever needed a chat.

Kate's took up pole dancing and enrolled in dance classes as a fun way to stay in shape.

Kate has signed on with Endeavor contingent led by Patrick Whitesell in November 2006, after leaving CAA, the management firm that has represented her since her role in Almost Famous.

Kate's first negative experience with the paparazzi occurred when she was three. Kurt Russell took the family out to dinner for Goldie Hawn's birthday, and as they were exiting the back of the Moroccan restaurant to avoid the crowd of cameras out front, ten people were waiting in the back, and scared her terribly. Kate ran screaming to the car, not knowing what the people wanted from them.

Kate never received special treatment on her parent's movie sets. Instead of being spoiled, she opted to help in the make-up trailer, costume department, and with the film crew, running errands. Her favorite set was on Overboard, with both of her parents filming together, and a large crew of kids that made it feel like summer camp.

Kate was a happy child, which she has given credit to her parent's love and grounded upbringing. She was very talkative, never picky, and full of personality.

When Kate was pregnant she craved peanut butter and pickles.

Kate took a year off in 2002 to be a wife, and as soon as she started back up, she had back to back roles.

Kate fined director Garry Marshall a dollar for each time that he called her Goldie while directing her in Raising Helen. He was often confused, because he has known Goldie Hawn, Kate's mom, since she was 19 years old.

Kate was ready to start trying to conceive again, four months after having her son Ryder. She wanted to be pregnant again as soon as possible.

Kate became an image model for the Philippine clothing company Kamiseta. She followed Natalie Portman, Brittany Murphy, Nicole Richie, and Salma Hayek.

Kate was considered along with Liv Tyler, Gisele Bündchen, and Heather Graham as a replacement for Cindy Crawford as the face of Revlon Cosmetics in 2000.

Kate's role as Penny Lane in Almost Famous has a scene when she flashes her breasts. The scene was improvised by Kate, when the director told her to just 'let loose' and feel the party, she ended up flashing the camera. The director gave her a week to think about whether she wanted to keep the scene in the movie, and she decided that she did.

Kate's parents gave her a year to make it as an actress, and if she wasn't acting within that year, she needed to return to college or get cut off financially. She is happy that she decided to pursue her dream of acting.

Kate was chosen over Gwyneth Paltrow to star in the comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days opposite Matthew McConaughey.

Kate appeared in a Public Service Announcement for The ONE Campaign, in 2005.

Kate appeared in the television commercial for 'Tommy' jeans. Her very first modeling job came from Tommy Hilfiger.

Kate's role in Almost Famous as Penny Lane was meant for Sarah Polley who backed out to pursue a different project. Cameron Crowe thought of shelving the project, but Kate begged for the chance to play the lead as Penny. She was originally cast for the role of the lead character William's sister.

Kate forced the National Enquirer to admit that the story that they wrote on her alleged eating disorder was fabricated, instead of a 'mistake'. She sued them for libel, and won her case.

Kate does not watching herself on screen. She actually breaks into a cold sweat and shakes when watching a performance.

In her fifth grade talent show Kate danced to Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" - and won.

Kate is a regular on the Best Dressed lists, however, she ranked #7 on Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dress List for the first time, in 2001.

Kate is five feet and six inches tall. She is left-handed, has green eyes, and brown hair. She is part Sicilian (on her dad's side).

Kate buys her clothes from vintage clothing shops and makes her own jewellery.

Kate is able to speak French. It was something she learned during the filming of Le Divorce (2003).

Kate has 3 dogs: Clara (a Pomeranian), Doctor (an English bulldog), and Bella (a Neapolitan mastiff).

Kate enjoys playing guitar, writing music, and doing arts and crafts. She practices yoga.

Kate was ranked #99 in Premiere's 2003 annual "Power 100" List. It is her first appearance on the list and she was the youngest person on it that year at the age of 24.

Kate has always known that she wanted to act, but at one point developed an interest in playing soccer and got very good at it, making it onto her high school team. Growing up with brothers, she always had someone to compete against in practices, and Kurt both coached her & cheered her on. She quit playing however, when she saw that her legs were getting 'quite large'.

Kate graduated from Crossroads, a Santa Monica performing arts school, in 1997. She was accepted to NYU's Tisch School of Drama.
