Katee Sackhoff

Katee received her first fan letter at the age of 17. The letter was sent from a prison and regarded a family show on FOX.

When Katee picked up a pug puppy in a pet store to play with it she discovered that the puppy had been sitting on a picture of her face. Katee adopted the puppy and named her "Nelly B" after the character she played in The Education of Max Bickford (2001) because this was the picture used in the newspaper article that the dog had been sitting on.

Katee Sackhoff is featured alongside Michael Hogan in the "100 Stars We Love Right Now" article published in Entertainment Weekly (2007).

The fake tattoo on Katee's arm in Battlestar Galactica is actually part of the Kara and Anders character's wedding band which is never fully explained on the show.

Katee had to sign a non-disclosure agreement that prevented her from prematurely revealing the fate of Starbuck in the episodes "Maelstrom" and "Crossroads, Part 2" from Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica.

Katee attended Santa Monica College for a brief period, but chose to quit school in order to focus her attention on acting.

She decided to quit smoking when she received fan mail from little girls saying they wanted to be like 'Starbuck' when they grew up.

In the movie Halloween: Resurrection, Katee played an aspiring actress who was unfortunately murdered in the film.

Katee wears a ring on the thumb of one of her hands. This piece of jewelry was written into the Battlestar Galactica series. The ring is explained away as Starbuck's engagement ring from Zak Adama.

Currently she has 3 tattoos:
1. On the back of her neck is a Japanese kanji symbol for 'choice' which is rarely seen in the series and one of the reasons she grew her hair longer between the mini-series and Season 2.
2. She has another tattoo of a cross on her back that is covered by large bandages whenever her shoulder is uncovered, such as in the episode "The Farm" (Christianity exists in a different form in Battlestar Galactica).
3. She has one tattoo on her left forearm that reads "Bona fiscalia," which means "public property" in Latin. It is visible in numerous episodes.

She began yoga as part of physical therapy, in her teen years.

Even though Katee used to smoke cigarettes, she says she hates smoking cigars for her role as Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica.

Katee has had long hair all of her life (until landing a role on Battlestar Galactica).

Katee cropped off most of her hair for Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica.

Sackhoff says that Starbuck will be "experiencing love again".

Her mother used to say that Katee used to be the class clown, who needed to be the center of attention.

In the Battlestar Galactica episode, Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part 2, There is a fight between Six (Tricia Helfer) and Katee Sackhoff's character Starbuck. The actresses decided to do their own stunts in this particular scene. Tricia threw Katee into a real vase, resulting in a large bruise. They both thought all the props around them were breakaway material.

She doesn't read the SciFi.com message boards, but she does read and answer all of her fan mail.

She is dating a professional football player on the Kansas City Chiefs named John. It is likely John Welbourn, an offensive tackle.

Katee says that Edward James Olmos (fellow actor on Battlestar Galactica) took her under his wing and made her feel safe.

She smoked cigarettes until the beginning of Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica.

When watching the original Star Wars, she developed a crush on Han Solo.
