Born in Mississippi on April 24th, Katherine Bailess began studying classical dance at the age of four and competed in gymnastics, dance and cheerleading. At age 11, she began performing live on television as a dancer in the Miss Mississippi Pageant where she continued for 7 more years. After attending ballet workshops across the country, Katherine won a scholarship with the Broadway Dance Center in New York and at Ann Reinking's Broadway theatre Project in Florida. After focusing on dance and musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College, Katherine went on to study at the William Esper… More Studio's two-year intensive program.

On the big screen, Katherine has appeared in a number of independent films including "The Bootlegger," "A Failed Relationship," "The Champion" and "Central." For television, Katherine had a recurring role on ABC's "One Life to Live" soap opera and starred as Brianna in Fox Sports' "Thunderbox." Her many talents have made her a success in theatre productions as both an actress and dancer.

Katherine also played "Alexa" in 20th Century Fox's romantic musical comedy From Justin to Kelly (2003). This spring break Miami adventure stars American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and runner-up Justin Guarini. Katherine's role as Alexa, Kelly's sexy friend, has her singing and dancing her own number of which she performs with a male chorus of fifty men.

Additionally, Katherine starred in Universal's "Bring It On Again" where she played the role of Colleen Lipman for director Damon Santostefano. This was released in DVD in January of 2004.

Finally, Katherine's role of Kate in the upcoming drama, "Sea Of Fear" will be released in late 2004.

When not working Katherine enjoys teaching children's dance lessons, reading and outdoor sports. She resides in Los Angeles, California.

    Guest starred and had recurring roles in two WB shows. Has landed several movie roles as well. hide show

    I love Katherine Bailess! She is a great actress and she is gorgeous. I watch One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls and it was really cool to see her in both of those shows. I also enjoyed seeing her in Bring it on Again and From Justin to Kelly. I hope she shows up more in Gilmore Girls, because I think they could have had more of her character, especially with Colin and Finn and Robert and the life and death brigade!!! I also hope that she gets more tv roles and bigger TV roles, because I really like watching her.

    OTH and GG!! She appears on one of my fav shows!!! hide show

    I like her as Stephanie on GG and I like her as Erica on OTH!!! So to me she is a pretty good actress though I'd love to see her on GG some more!! I like Stephanie! :)

    But on OTH she's doing a good job too, the camera just loves her and I like her characters as well so I hope we get to hear a lot more about her.
