Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura Ingalls Wilder in the hit series Little House on the Prairie, has said in previous interviews that Katherine had a wild sense of humor on the set. She set a lot of time aside to be with the kids on the show in-between filming, and she took them to the movies a lot, including the horror flick Jaws.

Katherine is a strict vegetarian, and many of the Little House on the Prairie child stars--including Melissa Gilbert--have said that Katherine taught them a lot about cooking healthy foods.

Because of her Scottish roots, Katherine is sometimes credited as Scottie MacGregor.
