Katheryn: (on how she got started in acting) I guess it was when I started teaching actors on movie sets. I did some theatre in high school and I wrote plays and you know, did local stuff. In high school I started teaching Jennifer Jason Leigh on a David Cronenberg film, for instance. I started teaching martial arts and I come from a martial arts background, and then I fell in love with it and I auditioned and I got my first TV series from, like, my second audition.
Katheryn: (on her martial art training gaining her respect from boys) When I was growing up, there were times I had to compete against boys in tae kwon do, and I'd show them right away that I wasn't someone to mess with.
Katheryn: (on her growning up) I grew up in a martial arts gym surrounded by men and boys, and I pretty much call myself a tomboy.
Katheryn: (on her first car) My first car was a Chevy Cavalier. My dad somehow convinced me that it was a hot sports car because it was red.
Katheryn: (on being a tomboy) I grew up being a bit of a tomboy, a big-time tomboy.

Katheryn: (on the norsemen language that she had to research for the role in the TV series Vkings) The Norse way of speaking, no one really knew what the Vikings sounded liked, they were Norsemen. The accent is really a combination of a Scandinavian accent, maybe with a Swedish accent and an old way of speaking.
