Kathleen Freeman

Kathleen was a lesbian. Her partner was Helen Ramsey. According to British obituaries, she was survived by Helen. In the U.S. obituaries however, Helen was not named.

One of Kathleen most notable roles was an uncredited part in the 1952 musical Singin' in the Rain. She played Jean Hagen's articulate diction coach Phoebe Dinsmore.

She was working on Broadway in a production of "The Full Monty" when she died of lung cancer in 2001.

When she entered UCLA, her role was a music degree. She wanted to become a pianist. The acting bug was too strong in her genes. She never regretted changing from music to acting.

She was sitting on a prop chair singing. the chair collapsed under her. The musicians stopped playing and there was dead silence. She got up to her knees, spread her arms and sang, "That's why I love the theater".

Kathleen Freeman one of the actress considered for the part of Allice the houskeeper on The Brady Bunch. The role was ultimately played by Ann Davis.
