Katie: We all keep dreaming, and luckily, dreams really do come true.
Katie: (On work) I feel the same inspiration that I've always felt to work and do good work and becoming a mom really awakens you to a lot of things. And one of them is, there's that constant -- is this good for everybody, and what is this saying to her (Suri)? And I think that's a normal thing to feel. So it's even more that motivation to do a good job and to keep working.
Katie: When you have a child, it feels like you're reading an encyclopedia every day, and you're always behind, because children grow up so fast. Suri is teaching me a lot. She's so smart and strong--just really magical.
Katie: (in January 2008, about her and Tom) There's obviously a lot that's been said about our relationship. There was stuff in the news about our daughter, and that's just not okay. It's something that I don't stand for. I am a mother. I will stand up for my family. I never thought our relationship was a whirlwind. When I first met Tom, I was just like, "Right on, let's do it!" So I've always felt very comfortable and happy with everything.
Katie: My mother loves to give me pedicures. She pulls out my feet and makes them feel great.
Katie: (on her most romantic date) One time I got caught in a rainstorm with somebody, and we were dancing in the street. It was pretty romantic.
Katie: I get so sad when I see people who are really thin or really overweight. You can tell their spirit is hurting. We shouldn't do that to ourselves.
Katie: I'm not computer literate. I e-mail. I know how to get on the Web, but I haven't crossed over into the internet world. I'm old-fashioned, I guess.
Katie: I'm definitely a messy person... I know where everything is but I just can't organize. I don't make lists and find scripts on the laundry machine, and under my bed, or in the bathroom, kitchen. It's bad, I really need to take control.
Katie: I watched a porno once, it was really funny.
Katie Holmes: (about her and Tom's daughter Suri) She was born as Mission Impossible III was coming out, and once Tom was finished promoting the film, all we wanted to do was spend time with Suri and our family and friends. We were always going to release a photo. We just didn't want to get into the whole production of setting up a photo shoot at that time. I really just wanted to enjoy this precious time with my daughter. I knew I'd never get that time back.
Katie Holmes: This is my future. This is my family, and I care so much about them. The stories are not okay. It eats away at me because it's just not okay. To see how someone as caring and good as Tom is, and to see how things can just get so twisted and turned around.....I mean, where does it come from? It's been heartbreaking to see that.
Katie: I feel very lucky. I have a husband and baby that I adore. I have a career I really love. When I sit back and reflect, it's, like, wow! I am very grateful.
Katie: (On her first date with Tom) Our first date was in Los Angeles. It was also my first motorcycle ride to the beach. It was amazing and fast. I was in love from the moment I shook his hand for the first time.
Katie: It's kind of fun being the cute, little one. In fact, I'm finding it hard to grow out of that.
Katie: My family always keeps me in check. I have three older sisters, and they work their butts off. They're all very supportive of my career, but I know what's really important is kids and family.
Katie: I fell in love. I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always.
Katie: I really can't deny it, I am who I am. I'm pretty normal. I'm not that smooth type of girl. I run into things, I trip, I spill food. I say stupid things... I really don't have it all together.
Katie: I'm so spoiled. I must have a Starbucks vanilla latte every day.
Katie: (on the various rumours about the birth of Suri) It's really frustrating the amount of shit that's out there. And the stuff they said about Suri?! You can't say that about my child. As a mother you hear it and it's just not okay.
Katie: I'm really into my running workout. Running really helps me clear my head and makes me feel good, especially when I'm stressed.
Katie: I'm not the easiest person to live with. I'm kind of a slob.
Katie: (About how there are times when she doesn't know what her character on "Dawson's Creek" is talking about) Some of the lines that I say on the show, well. I will say it or I think I know how to say it, then someone like James or someone else will come up to me and say "You don't know what that means do you?". For example the term walking your dog... not got a clue. Even my Dad knows I don't get it, which is embarrassing.
