    • Katie: (advice to young girls who want to go into acting) I think you just have to be able to live two different lifestyles. On one hand you have to concentrate on your studies yet when you're acting you have to be a completely different person. You really have to focus. I think the most important thing is to not let it get to your head. And don't get easily influenced by anything.
    • Katie: (on how doing the "Harry Potter" films has changed her life) It hasn't really changed my life in a great way. I'm more confident in general. I used to be really, really shy which is never a good thing because you never speak up for yourself. Now I don't stop talking! But in terms of being recognised, it doesn't really happen that often.
    • Katie: (on meeting the actor who played Harry Potter) The first time I met Daniel Radcliffe, I had to do a drama workshop with him, so not only did I meet him and feel really starstruck, but I also had to act with him! I was really nervous, but he came up to me, shook my hand, and introduced himself. He's just a normal guy and he's so down to earth!
    • Katie: (on winning the role of Cho Chang in Harry Potter) I feel really lucky! I'm very appreciative getting this part because there are so many girls that would love to be in my position! It's like an honor!
    • Katie: (on her first "red carpet" event at the The Dukes of Hazzard premiere) One of the publicists introduced me to the photographers, and the next thing you know, they're all flashing their cameras--that was really exciting! It was such a buzz. Just smiling for hours and hours, it was sore cheeks at the end of the night! It was such a great experience!
    • Katie: (on the rumors that fans rebelled against Harry Potter having an Asian girlfriend) It stemmed from tow comments that people made on a website. Not even relatively as horrible as made out! I haven't seen anything. I don't get hate mail like people say I do!
    • Katie: When I was in my early teens, I wasn't very confident. In fact, before getting the part in the film, I'd say I was shy, especially at school. I'd never acted before, but being in front of the camera has really brought me out of myself.
    • Katie: (Mike Newell is her director in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) When I met Mike Newell he asked me what drama school I went to, and I told him that I'd never acted before. He said 'flipping monkeys', which I clearly remember. That's when I realized I had a chance of getting it.
    • Katie: (on acting) I wouldn't want to be in a film because I'm Asian. I want to get respect as an actress.
    • Katie: (on her experience from shooting a scene with Robert Pattinson in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) During the scene of the Yule Ball, the ground was very slippery and I was wearing high heels and I slipped, but good thing I grabbed onto Robert so I didn't fall and good thing the cameras weren't where we were yet. Oh, that was so embarrassing!
