Kenneth Welsh was born on March 30th 1942, in Alberta Canada. After studying drama at school and building on his talents at the Canadian National Theater School, Welsh began his acting career by playing D'Artagnan in the TV movie adaptation of The Three Musketeers. His first big Hollywood hit came in the late eighties, when he played the role of Brannigan in Crocodile Dundee. After starring in The X-Files in the mid 90s, Welsh's Hollywood career saw him gain praise from film critics. He was cast as Vice President Becker in The Day After Tomorrow, which caused controversy due to the stark resemblance he bears to the Vice President of the time, Dick Cheney. In 2005, his movie success continued with his role as Dr. Mueller in the horror film The Exorcism of Emily Rose. In addition to his movie career, Welsh has starred in various TV series, including Smallville, Stargate Atlantis, and Bionic Woman.
