Biography

Recent Role:
Adele Stott on Missing (UK)
Gender:

Birth Name:
Kim
AKA:
Sam Mitchell
Kim's acting career began in the theatre, where she starred in The Beggars Opera, and was an ensemble singer at the Royal Festival Hall, in a production called Welcome Ode to Kurt Maser.

Kim is a highly skilled mezzo soprano singer, and she is most adept to jazz, rock and ballads. She is also a very competent Tap and Contempary dancer.

Before her stage career, Kim did a Law degree at University, but her dream was always to be an actress/singer.

Prior to landing her role in EastEnders, Kim spent six months travelling around Africa.

More Kim landed the part of Sam Mitchell in January 2000, and she made her debut in Eastenders in the special Spain episodes of February 2000.

Kim had a serious car accident whilst on holiday in France late last year. She seriously hurt her leg and had to remain on crutches for several weeks. However, through commitment to her job at EastEnders she soon returned to work, even though hobbling around. This wasn't written into the show, and so Sam was often seen sitting, reclining and standing behind the bar where her crutches weren't visable.

    a fabulous actress hide show

Kim Medcalf is an absolutely fabulous actress, especially in the recent episodes (30th august - 2nd september 2005) of Eastenders.

Kim's performance as Samantha Mitchell in the show is magnificent, recently Eastenders hasn't had the best of luck ratings wise, but this week it's back of top and that's largely todo with Kim.

Portraying the mad, druken and possesed Samantha was something that very few actresses could have pulled off but Kim did making the character belivable and slightly frightening.

With Kim leaving Eastenders in the near future, its clear that she will go on to bigger and brighter things.
