Kim Novak began her career in modeling after winning a scholarship. Columbia Pictures was looking for their own Marilyn Monroe and hired her on the spot. She would appear in a dozen pictures in the 50's. Winning a Golden Globe for the 1955 film Picnic. She was a last minute replacement for the Hitchcock film Vertigo when actress Vera Miles' pregnancy complicated filming. She appeared with Frank Sinatra in two films Pal Joey and The Man with the Golden Arm. She appeared in a few more films but retired early to concentrate on painting and raising llamas withMore her veterinarian husband Dr. Robert Malloy.
