Kim Thomson is partly Scottish and partly English. She grew up in the south of England and trained at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. She is best known now in the UK for her role in Emmerdale, but before that was already familiar from shows like Sherlock Holmes, Virtual Murder, Midsomer Murders, The Wanderer, McCready and Daughter, Loved by You, Rosemary and Thyme and The Bill. She also has a movie career.
