    • Kinya has worked with popular producer and performer Daisuke Asakura (member of popular 'gay themed' band AXS), for his work in the Gravitation anime soundtrack, as well as in his solo career as a member of the production group, MAD SOLDIERS, along with Kenichi Ito. Asakura and Ito wrote and produced many songs for Kinya and many other known acts in the Japanese music industry, as well as being part of their own band in the late 90's, called ICEMAN.

    • On October 21, 1999, Kotani released his first album Mad Soldier's Laboratory with his former group Mad Soldiers.

    • The mistake of Kotani not having a music career outside of the works he has done for the anime, Gravitation, is a reoccurring misconception among American fans.

    • Although Kotani was part of the band MAD SOLDIERS, he was not a primary member. The original members of MAD SOLDIERS consisted of Daisuke Asakura and Kenichi Ito.
